War Heroes

I chose war heroes because they are just ordinary people who help in many ways. One of many war heroes is Carlos Hathcock. He holds the record for 3rd most U.S.M.C. kills. He also started a Scout-Sniper school in Virginia.

Another hero is Marine Corporal Dunham, who threw himself on a live grenade to protect his squad. He earned the Medal of Honor for it but didn't live to receive it.

Marine Corporal Jason Dunham

These are only 2 of many war heroes. Not everybody has to do something great in their lifetime to be considered a hero. A coward turns away, but a brave man's choice is danger. Both of these me stood up for what they believed was right, Corporal Dunham did not die without a cause. He fought selflessly for other peoples' freedom, Jason Dunham is one of the greatest heroes i know.

These seem like two great picks for heroes. And you're right: people don't have to do something "great" to be considered a hero. And heroes should have a "cause" and they should stand up for what is right. But I wonder if there is ever a time when it might be heroic, instead of cowardly, to turn away?
